Do you think there will come a time when manufacturers will finally ditch DB25 for CAT6 (ethernet) connections?
Four years ago I posted this as a way to get beyond DB25 with my MH ULN8 interfaces:https://realgearonline.com/thread/11107/approach-running-breakouts-db25-connectors
CAT6 is inexpensive, low loss, well shielded (if you get the right stuff), and easy to work with. DB25 connectors suck!
Thoughts?

Yes. It's already happening. More so protocol is moving towards AoIP for sure.
But DB25s aren't going anywhere. Backwards compatibility. And given to use analog signals you need fully shielded CAT6 which can lead to confusion with consumers with how many cable types there are. Doubt they will full ditch them.
That said, you can just get a DB25 to dual RJ45 adapter like addressed in that older thread.

I've been using the Ward Beck adapters for four years now -- however, they stopped making them. Oddly, the adapter at the CatherineNorth link look exactly like the Ward Becks. I'm glad to see that there is an AES spec for this. Thanks for the info.
