Thanks Seawell! Has anyone tried this yet?

I have to eye roll for a sec. “Analog Machines”, “Magical machines to unleash your creativity”, “rich analog tones”. I’ve had my fill of this stuff. Hard to swallow the marketing hype.

Universal Audio has become a parody of itself.

I got it. Tried it briefly on the 2 bus. The first two presets boost volume a little and add a nice smooth high end boost, almost like mastering. The last two are useless.
Not sure if I'll ever use it or not. Maybe for sending unmastered demos to friends..

Feels not even worth it for free. And they're not machines, they're software.

I hope this isn't the new "tape machines" they've been working on... A little underwhelmed, but I havn't tried it yet.

This thing is already too obvious even with the drive at 0%. In my opinion it is more an effect intended for beatmakers than a tool for sound engineers. It allows you to have a type of sound in one or two clicks. In any case it is clear that I will not buy the full version.

"Vintagize" is a game changer though.

shurely repackaged plugin for the one-knob-generation „producers“. the GUI is aimed at those too. no more vintage emulation GUI.

I tried it. But the Volume Knob was stuck. So I couldn't... Turn it down! Chris

I tend to barf every time I hear someone needing warmth, distortion, vintage or tubeish to enhance or describe something. This verve seem to be aimed at a group of home mixers that need to save a mix from lack of tracking knowledge or understanding of building a soundscape. I do believe there is a market for it and probably a proper way to use it, but it does the reflect the general demand, and what the companies will need to produce for the greater markets to keep going. Doesn’t fall far from the cheap hardware that comes with the saturation switch.

I’m remembering the first time, I visited my buddy’s studio after he bought his first piece of UA outboard, he was so proud and I was impressed: seems like a very long time ago.

I think it's free for everyone right now - so at least UA got the price right (for now - looks like they will overprice it like everything else).

They're magically delicious.* But they're NO "VINTAGIZE"!! Chris * These 2 are my Lucky Charms.

I finally pulled up this plugin. Every setting makes the source louder and uglier sounding. I honestly don't think I will ever find a use for any of this, but who knows. Unfortunately, UA's psychological trick of just making everything louder isn't going to benefit anyone. I hope nobody actually pays for it.

Verve seems like a toy to me. I had high hopes for Verve to be a new end to end model of a tape machine, same as the Studer and ATR, but it was not to be, unfortunately. Verve just seems like a repackaged, dumbed down version of what already exists in the Studer and ATR.
I'm not philosophically opposed to simple tools across the board. LA3A? Simple but effective. Same for the 1176. But Verve.... Yeah, I don't know. Maybe I should test it out more, but I just kind of don't want to use it. The ad copy and supporting video even basically insinuate that this plugin is for people that don't know what they're doing and that people shouldn't care. Ugh....
Sound City was a cool release. But this one, not so much. I hope UA doesn't keep going down the Verve path.

Even though it's free, I've not been compelled to even try it.

Even though it's free, I've not been compelled to even try it. Me neither. I think the freebie is four models and the paid one is ten. But if none of them are useful? Cheers, Geoff
