Hey All,
Gf and I are landing in Nashville this afternoon and taking off on Monday.
Only plans right now are dinner tonight with a bud at Lockeland Table and dinner Friday at Bourbon Steak (celebrating our birthdays)!
Where should we eat? Where to see music? What else to do? Staying at Residence Inn / Vanderbilt. Ubering around.
If any of you are performing around, would love to come check it out. Would love to do an open mic too, but would need to buy a beater guitar on marketplace or something.
Give me some ideas!!

Tonight (Wednesday) Frank Evans Band is at Jane’s Hideaway, which is a smaller club/cocktail lounge in East Nashville. Really good bluegrass if that’s your thing. At Dee’s Lounge in Madison Kenny Vaughn from Marty Stuart’s band is playing with his Dave Jacques (John Prine) and Jeffery Clemens (G Love & the Special Sauce). The Descendents and Circle Jerks are playing Brooklyn Bowl but that’s probably sold out but I hate that I’m not in town for it! If you go to Jane’s Dino’s is a good bar with great burgers. If you go to Dee’s Pinky Ring Pizza is amazing or Tacos Y Mariscos is probably the best Mexican in town…not a fancy joint but where the locals eat
It’s Tin Pin South, which is a songwriters/industry festival and that’s going on all over town. Their website is tough to navigate but maybe someone you want to see is playing
I’m pretty out of touch when it comes to the new restaurants but near where you are staying is Fido, which is a good coffee spot with food that you can collect your thoughts and figure out how to spend your day! There’s some nice storefronts to walk around and check out in that area as well.
I’d also recommend going to the 12th South Area which has a lot of great lunch and dinner spots and some places to walk around and shop/check out. It’s 10 minutes from where you’re staying, good shopping and tons of restaurants
Robert’s Western World is the best bar for music on Broadway if you are going to go into that scene. I’d recommend doing that Wednesday or Thursday unless you just love crowds and drunks
If you’ve never seen a show at the Ryman I’d recommend it and the Wood Brothers, which are incredible, play Thursday. Black Pumas are doing two nights as well and Courtney Marie Andrews is opening and she’s wonderful

I'm not a Nashville native, but here's what we enjoyed most last year when we visited:
Places - The Listening Room - Ryman, including the tour ahead of time - RCA Studio B tour - Grand Ole Opry - Country Music Hall of Fame
Food (the one's we wanted to try) - The Pancake Pantry - Hattie B's

Pancake Pantry is a pita, (line) but it is freaking delish.
I really like an Italian place called Moto on M Street near the Gulch. It's a little more upscale. Another vote for Robert's. Check out Kelley's Heroes that plays I think 6-11 most nights. Guitar player is a freak. So I've been here for almost 30 years and I've STILL never been to Patterson House...but from what I've heard, the drinks are fantastic.

Any spots with killer bao buns?
Love to find more bluegrass spots too. We’re probably gonna be tied up with my bud tonight, tomorrow, and Friday dinner. Later Friday and all day night Saturday look free right now. Probably gonna try to do the hall of fame and studio b tour on Sunday. Sunday night probably still open too.
Wood brothers show is a possibility for tomorrow night.

Did Big Al’s for lunch today. Great food and dudes from Mass running the place, so that was cool. Think we’re going for a Ryman tour this afternoon and Wood Brothers show at Ryman tonight.

Jesse, let me know if you're going to the Station Inn. I'm still recovering from surgery 12 days ago, but can probably make it there to say hi since I'm living in the Gulch now.
The Pub in the Gulch has the best fish and chips and Shepherd's pie.

I think someone mentioned it earlier, but you definitely have to go to Dee's Country Lounge! Great spot.
Vinyl tap ( record store / bar ) seems really cool as well. It was closed when I was there due to the rare snow / frozen streets. The restaurant across the street, Cafe Roze, is delicious as well.

The Wood Bros are fantastic live. I’m sure it was a great show in that room .

Probably too late for this trip, Jesse, but my vote for underrated/undiscovered Nashville attraction is The Musicians Hall of Fame. I second the votes for Robert’s and The Listening Room. Safe travels!

Also, the Blue Room at Third Man is one of the best sounding rooms in town. Have seen a few shows there and always super impressed.
