I'm looking for a washboard part for a cajun type song and am fresh out of washboard players. I'll probably hire someone later but for now I just need a placeholder. Perhaps unsurprisingly the various VI packs aren't exactly crawling with VI washboards.
Any suggestions?

I have a washboard, but it's an old school wood frame, not the type you tend to see.

Right now I'm not even sure if it's the right approach though. Normally I'd just drop in a sample to get a rough draft on an "out there" idea but... well as the title says. The internet isn't exactly crawling with washboard samples. |

I want to say there's one in one of the EZ Drummer percussion packs. Don't know if you're an EZD or Superior Drummer user. There are a couple of percussion packs, and there's also a kit sampled and played by Michael Blair (Twisted EZX). I thought that might have a washboard, but i just looked and it's a cake pan. I love Michael Blair.

OK, I just found one for you, gravesnumber9 . There's one in Shimmer Shake Strike 2 - it may be in the expansion pack, not sure. I just know that I see it there and just played a pattern with it to confirm it actually is a washboard.
I will furthermore say, however, that upon listening to it MY GOSH - you will definitely be replacing it with a real player if you like the washboard idea. Still maybe it gives you an idea. And I will say that SSS2 is overall pretty helpful to have for mockups or a more realistic click (though I'm thinking you probably don't use clicks).

Grab yourself a $20 old washboard off eBay. That's what I did years ago. Now I've got a couple. Those things have easily earned 200X's what I paid for them. One of my better investments. Easy to play.
