Hi all,
Is there anyway to use a Logic Pro stock reverb (Au) in another daw? Is there a program I can use to create an IR that replicates it or a reverb plugin into which I can import the stock reverb?
Thanks

Thanks As far as I know, Logic plugs are not like other plugs since they are part of the daw itself, not separate plugins and therefor can't be exported even if they use AU technology. I bet you could do an IR capture, but I've never done it like that. There's so many plugs, I'm sure you could more easily find a plug that does what you want than going through the process of IR capture. What's the plug and what makes it special to you?

The plugin is Logic AU Matrix reverb. I’ve used it for a long time (usually export stem into Logic then bounce out). It’s the cathedral setting. It’s far from perfect but I usually use it in conjunction with another reverb and I’ve become accustomed to it. I like the tail and sustain of it but I’d love an alternative. I can’t quite find something similar.

I’ve done something like what svart has described for reverbs. I made IRs of IK’s Sunset Sound because I didn’t want to install it on another computer. The result was something that almost perfectly nulled with the plugin.
It takes some experimenting to fine tune, such as leaving the appropriate tail after a sine sweep to capture the decay of the reverb.

I haven’t completely wrapped my head around that plug yet - O don’t have it - I just can’t think of all the possibilities with it. I know it oversamples every plugin

I don't think Logic's stock plug-ins will launch within any other DAW regardless of wrapper. I've used this to route sends/returns between DAWs on the same machine, as well as between two different machines: www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Product_Connector/

Download Luna and then AU plugs will be put in there and you could use them…unless you were talking about the actual Logic plugs. www.bluecataudio.com/Main/Home/

AU Matrix Verb is one of the plugins supplied by Apple with OSX, so it will load in any AU host.

Thanks everyone for the replies. AU Matrix Verb is one of the plugins supplied by Apple with OSX, so it will load in any AU host. Yes I came to realise it’s not actually a Logic plugin as it shows up in studio one. Is there any way to load it directly in Pro Tools since it’s part of the operating system? I’m guessing not due to aax format but wishful thinking and all…
