Since Dirk was only in an advisory role, & there is no mention of non compete clause, I’m betting he served out the time in his non compete As an advisor and someone made him a nice offer. Happens all the time in our little world.

the NI letter (to users/shareholders/employees?) is fairly passive-aggressive...
As you may have read, Dirk Ulrich, the founder of Plugin Alliance and a visionary in our field, has left the Native Instruments Advisory Board. <snip> What does this mean for you? In a word: nothing.
These things happen all the time, but that they are usually worded a bit more professionally. That one is pretty clear there are some sour grapes.
