Anyone here using these yet? I just got a demo mic in the mail. Quick test and it sounds excellent. Hoping to do some sort of shootout tomorrow night. ohmaworld.com/

Definitely eye catching. I could see these becoming popular with so called "content creators" if they actually sound good.

Are they really made in Nebraska? Good old USA? Chris

I've been following them on Insta for a while and they are really interesting mics. They make a ribbon and an edge terminated LDA in the same mic body. There are different snap on (magnetic?) faces that acoustically alter the sound. They will do custom colors and have a good group of color options.

Definitely eye catching. I could see these becoming popular with so called "content creators" if they actually sound good. My duo with my gf is called Rose Gold Glasses, so the Rose Gold mic was appealing for our content purposes. I was thinking about grabbing a R84 when I came across these, so figured a demo would be worth a shot.

I had heard something about a group from AEA who were unsuccessful in purchasing the company were starting a new mic company. I didn't make the connection to Ohma, though Definitely eye catching. Wow, those are beautiful microphones! I definitely look forward to hearing more from those that get a chance to try them.
Also, just noticed you can customize the colors and even get your logo on the mic. $199 for the custom logo but how sweet would that look? Very cool. I applaud these guys for designing something so different from what's out there.

I'm not a fan of the goofy colors, but I have to hand it to them for not using the same old generic mic bodies that everyone uses. Will be nice to see how these work into the already crowded mic market.

I think that does look nice but I wonder how transparent those slats are. I'd think they would set up some odd comb filtering. Still looks fantastic. From their web site, they seem to be appealing to the trendy infuencer crowd and not the studio market.

From their web site, they seem to be appealing to the trendy infuencer crowd and not the studio market. They talk on the website how the different faceplates effect the sound. It was just the first I clicked for the picture. I'd personally probably get the one they call windows to start because it's the most transparent. I would probably get a few other faceplates over time. I get you influencer comment, but the people behind this thing are mic people with a pretty good pedigree, mostly coming from AEA. I believe they were employees who tried to purchase the company from Wes Dooley.

A lot of the concerns/questions people seem to have are answered on the website - For example, Here's more about the specific sounds of the different screens: Ohma screens
They're also using Cinemag and Lehle transformers FWIW. They still feel a touch expensive to me for what they are

I’m trying to resist the obvious, about how this is the perfect mic for meditation music. ( see Chris 2 jokes in one sentence 😎)

To each their own, if it makes you happy that’s what matters. I can understand why people might be into it. What’s unique about the capsule? The $400-$800 range of condensers/ribbons is a pretty competitive segment.

I think it's great that people are out there trying to do something different in a world of U47 clones.
