www.vintagemicrophonepcbkit.com/index.htmlWas just looking at the Tab site after hearing about Oliver's passing...so sad... Anyway, I guess these mics are the ones from GroupDIY? Is that right? I hadn't seen this site, so I thought I would post it...

Yes, those are Dany Bouchard's PCBs...he's probably been the most prolific of the PCB designer's, reviving classic circuits for the DIY community...I purchased two of his prototype builds and they are quite impressive...he's currently selling some other's on the GroupDIY Black Market forum: groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=56224.0Also for sale but not yet added to that list is this 47Fet using Oliver's (RIP) body kit: groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=49758.msg711089#msg711089...Dany was collaborating with Oliver on the AMI kits, by offering his PCBs in combination with Oliver's body kits... Here are some of Dany's newest offerings, some not yet available on his website store: groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=49675.msg723605#msg723605

Man...OA's passing is going to effect a lot of manufacturers. How many mic companies use his transformers?

John AMI might be OK, If Oliver had the right people in place the manufacturing and sales could possibly function on autopilot for a lengthy period of time. There wouldn't be much product development, but you would be surprised at the skills you can find in some it these small towns. Here's hoping ! And Danny's PCB are top notch there is a reason Oliver teamed up with him! The only weakness I see in Danny is he has yet to develope a How to guide at the level of Stieger or AML!

Man...OA's passing is going to effect a lot of manufacturers. How many mic companies use his transformers? ...Oliver's wife is very active in the company (I believe it was her soldering skills that were utilized for the point-to-point construction of my Blackspade UM17 demo unit)... ...here's a quote from Oliver, referring to the high-end Lucas tube mics: "The PCBs are made in Gaylord, KS… the mic assembly and PCB is done by my wife; cable and PSU by the lady that makes the V71/78, and I do capsule installment as well as testing." Read more: recordinghacks.com/microphones/lucas/CS-1...so I believe the company will be in capable hands, but as ericn noted, R&D will likely suffer...

I haven't done any Chungers projects or spent time looking at his documentation, Chunger's design is innovated for sure.
