I'm using a Korg synth to operate Omnisphere and Native Instruments plugins in Reaper. I also want to use my Roland PK-5 bass pedals to drive the synth. The synth outputs on MIDI channel 1 and the synth has to be set to channel 2 so it's the slave to the pedals. Is there any way I can do both of the things I want with a single MIDI channel? I can only get one or the other to work.
Edit: Using a Roland Um-One MIDI/USB adapter and a Korg X3

Trick is Korg connection to the computer and it's THRU capabilities and internal routing.
I always suggest to people that if you have multiple midi devices, pay the not that much money for an actual midi interface with multiple ports--because it makes everything work like a human brain would expect without much troubleshooting--ie, plug in all your devices....they're all appearing in your software with whatever channel they want to use....and you can handle routing and rechannelizing in the software itself--which dating back to my beginnings in MIDI 25+ years ago, has ALWAYS been exponentially easier than daisy chaining gear and trying to deal with the channels and THRU latency and filtering....blah...
Unlike audio, you can have two MIDI interfaces under windows, so a $60 2x2 solves your issues all together. Simply not worth trying to do it another way, IMO/E.
