Not Happy with your core 59s? I love mine! Nah, as I said.. I think they're some of the best monitors I've heard period. doesn't mean I can't covet thou neighbor's Mesanovic, although isn't that against the forum rules? You’re such a dufus, coveting your neighbour’s high end gear is our only rule, do we have to review your membership application: again ?

Yes, to a point. I have gotten used to having no monitors. We all calibrate to what we listen to. My main interest in monitors now is for soundstage and as I have had many good monitors in the last, but not 3 way, thinking about what they bring to the table. I was impressed with their understated balance, clarity of mids and smooth but clear top. I know I prefer closed not ported monitors and yesterday the clarity in the bass/kick could have been better, but the sound source was compressed YouTube music, so I won’t hold that against the dyns. My real concern is given the exterior quality of the enclosures, I don’t have the impression these were well cared for although they sound good. If you Google repairing dyn48’s all the speakers are expensive ti replace. I think they paid too much for them on trade in. I’ll see if they have any more price flexibility and or will extend the included warranty. Currently, total price for the 6 year old 48’s is within $500 cdn of the new Barefoot 3, newer design and full warranty. Gives one pause. Those are all pretty important factors. The 3-way thing is a big deal to me. When I started my quest a couple years ago, that was a must. I had been in a couple situations that really became lightbulb moments. I wish I'd gotten 3-ways YEARS ago. Mine are a sealed woofer and dipole mid and tweeter. I'm with you on a sealed thing, too. I literally could not go a day without having a pair of monitors. It just wouldn't happen I haven't mixed on headphones since my 4-track cassette days. Same way for me, on the sealed thing. I had a pair of Dyn BM5A for years. I always quite liked them, but then I got the itch to move up to a 3 way a few years ago. I finally decided to pull the trigger last year, and did some comparisons. The Lyd 48s were definitely on my list, given that I was already familiar with and liked the Dynaudio sound. I liked the Lyd 48s quite a bit, and would have been happy with them. But then I tried the Neumann KH310s and was ultimately won over, in no small part because I liked the tightness of the sealed cab in the low end on the 310s, as compared to the Lyds, which were a little less tight, and more flabby. Granted, for half the price of the 310s, I still could have been happy with the Lyd 48s. They did sound good, and we're somewhat splitting hairs here anyway. If my budget had been more limited, I would have gone with the Lyds and been more than happy. I actually preferred the Lyds to the 310s at first, though I imagine some of that was just familiarity with the Dyn sound. The sealed cab did ultimately win me over though. That, and a few other things too, but I think the sealed cab was the biggest differentiator for me, when comparing the ported Lyds and the sealed 310s. Take that for what it's worth.

It’s my one reservation: thx for reminding me the 310’s are sealed. And too FRIGGIN expensive !!

Useful only as an earthquake simulator.. Death by vibrations! The system for when you don’t want to hear what the artist has to say! Just sit back be quiet and listen to what you won’t be able to hear in the near distant future! What’s that? I can’t hear you? Is that blood running from your eyes? Here’s to audio abuse, pummeling foundations, and depleted retirement funds!🤟🏻 Damn that’s sexy! Good thing I don’t live by a fault line! 😆
