Jeff Steiger texted me this morning...apparently Oliver Archut passed away. So sad. I never had any dealings with him other than a few questions answered. Man, enjoy life - it means more than all of this stuff.

Oliver was a renaissance man, Always wanted to take a road trip to his place in KS, our thought and prayers are with his friends family and employees. He will be missed , and our little corner of the world just won't be the same.

Damn..... guy was a a major contributor.... Age brings wisdom and many blessings, but along with them come the heartache of losing friends and relatives. One of the most severe conundrums of life that I have yet to fully understand and be at peace with. Hopefully age will help me with that.

I had just talked with him on Wednesday about gear, business, life. He was feeling overwhelmed for sure, and mentioned his ongoing health issues. He sounded mostly upbeat, and mentioned he had just prepared dinner for he and his daughter "and we speak soon" which is how he always ended our chats.
The guy raised his own cattle, and would talk as much about how he enjoyed a good steak as he would talk about gear.
Very in depth guy, and really cared about people and things around him.
I didn't know anyone in his family or any other contacts inside of AMI / TAB Funkenwerk to know anything more than what has been written on forums.
I just pray his family gets through this OK.

he was 44 years old! that's just tragic, why does it seem the hyper talented types check out so early?
