Do you think there is room for a really awesome 251? Maybe we should make one with the Aluminium diaphragm and maybe a t14t (toroid) transformer and house it in a part for part original look presentation. Thoughts? (I hope this isn’t a can of worms we are opening up here) lol;) Cheers Yes. Your alum cap is awesome in my c12a mics, so why not have a 251 style as well. If there is any way you can get it at $3000 U.S. or lower, it will likely sell like pikelets. I’ve been crunching some numbers; I could make 30 to begin with, just to make sure it will be financially viable. I think I can get the price to the 3kUSD (it will be lean margins but doable). We will use the Aluminium diaphragm ck12 capsule and wind some T14T transformers. The earliest we will have them finished would be the end of April (about 6-8 weeks from now). We can match the look both internally and externally and will even have the original connector style. It would be nice to get an idea of some numbers for the first batch just to see if the tooling up is worth it. Let me know what you think. Thanks Ben

Well, I ordered a BN 67... looks like VK is unsure when it will ship, but that's ok, it's a want not a need.

FWIW I decided to go back on the Elly. And record without headphones. It's somewhat closer to how I sound "Live". Or when someone else records me. (I have definite "Recording Anxiety" recording myself! ) So I'm going to delete the previous vocal clips, on my last post/1st Page. An replace them with "today's". Chris P.S. This mic's another "Love"!

Hi again.
The T2 is a tribute but not a clone of a 251. In fact, it quite like the m250 with added polar patterns.
Thanks
Ben

Looks like (Default/OG setting) BU67 in Figure 8*... Is "the Call" for the upcoming ensemble Cover Recording, of the classic Jimmy Webb/1986 Grammy winning, "Highwaymen". I get to sing the "Waylon" part! Gotta put on my Big Boy Pants. And get up purdy early in the Mornin'. (To help sing a Deep Baritone-better) Chris *I need all the help I can get. Long live Proximity Effect.LOL! (Plus the 67 Style pick was highly recommended by Senor Drumsound on our recent call. )

So I got my BN67 and it’s great. I’d love to take it to the big studio and put it up against the vintage 269s and the 67RI. Although; when I’m there I’m usually running around trying to setup for the incoming band. So, I did have a kind or burbling, spitting noise coming from the mic initially. I was mildly concerned but it went away after leaving the mic on for a few hours. mics any suggestions on that? I let VK know. Also, what position are the dip switches shipped in?

The dip switches usually ship in the Old 67 mode though you may need to check as if the mic has been with a dealer, they may have changed them (but in your case that is doubtful). Re the noise, I'd say some of the uni potential cathode coating had lifted during freight and the noise is it baking on again during the first power up (this can sometimes happen when you use NOS tubes) thanks.
