There are a couple of esoteric mics that keep drawing my eye.
I been thinking off and on getting some of those counterfeit mics. Since some of the time they are CCP seized stock they take from manufacturers for their contribution. Some things are not bad, just have to change a few caps and resistors.

I’d love to find a Hammond A100/B3/C3 at a decent price locally. Local (hard enough nowadays even in LA, NY, and Nash) is always the hard part for these large items. The studio I work out of has a great-condition and soundingA100 that needs to be purged; as it doesn’t get used with there being two B3s and 5 Leslie’s. The owner still hasn’t tried to sell it, but been talking for a few years that he’d love to sell it for a good price to someone that really would truly appreciate it.

Here in Nashville it’s tough…thought I had a line on a C3 but it ended up being a C2. A100’s pop up at good prices sometimes but usually a 3 or so hour away drive and when you price borrowing/renting a truck to move it they become less appealing fast!

In China they are known for trying to change Resistors.
Sometimes permanently.
@ Enlav... Really love the new Elly. It's a 47 FET style. I was messing around with an EV 635a/Launcher combo yesterday.
And missed it! It's small and easy to put in the Laptop bag.
We have a heavy rainstorm going on NO way I'd bring the BU67 out in it! Chris

I think I remember reading about Ben putting in the M7 capsule into any of the K7-standard mics... Sooner or later I just need to email him and figure out what I want.

Maybe a hardware stereo eq.
A J45/50/SJ. Might be an Iris. Might be a Fairbanks. Might be a vintage Gibson.
Maybe some plugins. Still got a hankering for a Helios style.
Maybe some new monitors.
I dunno. I kinda feel Ive done my part in stimulating the economy the last little bit.
Cheers, Geoff

There was another thread out there that I wish I could find, but it was something like "Talk me out of buying..." I'm sure I'm forgetting some things but here's what I have down for the near future: - KSM 141 Pair - IAA QP5's or QPP - Wes Audio Supercarrier II - Beesneez BC12A (Tube) - Not sure when this will happen, but damn, that microphone was so impressive in the recent BN shootout.
And the things I'm waiting on new developments or still researching: - Fet 47 microphone (Too many options at this point to choose from) - The New Iron Age Audio Compressor? - Louder Than Liftoff C Module Product? -- I was originally planning on picking up a Silverbullet Mk2 this year, but I'm curious if we'll eventually see an even crazier module that could house both the Tape79 and Fairimu Non Pro Audio Related: - Yamaha FG5 or FS5 What about a .... "What is the total you have spent" thread I have a spread sheet covering the last 25 years so I know to the penny what I've spent

I picked this up and am really enjoying it. PTZ with AI. It's basically like Apple's center stage but with physical camera movements. Plus it's got really great lowlight performance for that price point. www.obsbot.com/obsbot-tail-air-streaming-cameraThat's pretty cool. Not really what I'm aiming for though. Going full frame sensor, hopefully. Ahh... you're going for actual quality. I was going for "easiest thing that could pass off as quality if you don't look too closely!" Kind of the Ozone auto assistant of cameras.

Where you thinking about doing it? I’m just look looking for a room. I have no desire to do big tracking sessions. If I can’t get it done with 4 channels at a time, I know it’s more than I want to deal with. I need to get out of the house though. It would be amazing to be able to work at night! I'll send you a message with more info but due west. What I'll say right now, at least publicly is the property search is active and ideally somewhere around Hackettstown NJ. Also have no clue right now what form the new shop will take... separate control & tracking rooms... open workshop w/ booths? Really all depends on what sorta property I find but yeah, no doubt its going to be a proper spot to crank when all said & done. And its absolutely happening. As in like - right now. Pulled the main snake and packed all but a dozen XLR's and two sets of headphones this afternoon. That should be enough to keep me going for a little while!??

I almost bought a pair of Dynaudio Core 59 monitors. It seems to me that Danny, ShadowK, is not going to send me his. :-) They remain on the someday list. Just too much money to spend at this time. I saw a used pair for quite a good deal but I was too slow on the draw. Probably for the best. It's hard to spend that much money.

Not necessarily Audio related, but I've been thinking about a new camera for video production.
I've been contemplating this. It was a dream of mine in my 20s to get a small RED setup. However, I think I would be content with a lowly Blackmagic kit.
What are you considering, if I may ask?

Sony FX3. It's full frame, low megapixel (better for lower light). I already have m4/3 cameras but even as advanced as they are these days with the dual ISO and such, the low light performance still gives a lot of macroblocking in the shadows since they are all high megapixel sensors.

There are alway various things but I'm really thinking a 12-string, probably the Eastwood Classic-12.

I'm consolidating ahead of a move, so the only thing I intend to pick up this year are a pair of the newer CAPI Heider FD312s. I'm sure I'm forgetting some things but here's what I have down for the near future: ... - Wes Audio Supercarrier II ...
If you're in the US and don't mind buying used, keep an eye on the Classifieds subforum here, as I'll probably be letting go of one of mine in the next 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for the heads up - it'll likely depend on asking price, Wes Audio regularly does their 20% off that seems to come around at least once a year.

This thread is dedicated to stuff you'll actually buy in the future but isn't possible right now. I'm saving up to buy the Looptrotter 16 console, I've got 500 series modules under a cupboard at the moment doing nothing and instead of buying more racks it would be nice to slam it all into a single console. Also a second Carbon is on the list but so is a DB25 for the Carbon I just bought.
That console looks impressive. It looks like a challenging DIY project for the future.

Shure 57 - wanna try, wanna own, just too cool rn Tiny drum set for my apartment - something nice and cute, yet still sort of professional, maybe that baby Yamaha that's all the rage rn, a bit too gay though I'd like to upgrade my converter, it's just that the Babyface is so convienent, that jog is great, buttons, dsp mixer, the sound is okay, too cold & sterile but okay

In order of likely acquiring:
1970 Fender P-Bass Coil Audio CA-70 Eventide H-90 Empress Compressor Pedal Soyuz Bomblet Martin HD28 or D18 Some 500 series modules (Germ Pre, TG2-500, a coupla Comps) Silver Bullet MkII Chandler RS660 AS V-Comp+ Amphion Sub (undecided on which) CAPI SumBuss
Scattered in-between are a number of Eurorack modules.
And then a small farm, somewhere in the middle of nowhere, preferably somewhere cool, with dogs, vegetables, gear, my wife, my Weber and my Smokey Mountain smoker. I need out of the rat-race.

Top of my list is some more DIYRE colour palette kits or a few LTL mister focus stage 2.
I might just bite the bullet (no pun intended) and buy a silver bullet mkII
After that maybe another Stam tube 87 as they are a favorite on guitar cabs.
Lastly I might snag a cheap AEA TRP if I find one. Really curious how the super high impedance affects the sound of that R88 I scored for cheap. I’ve seen several for under $500. Seems a low point of entry if it’s cool.
