Groove AI: SsD5.5 new feature

AI is certainly the latest buzzword, so how did we not see that one coming. But it is kinda interesting

From what I can tell it's going to scan the massive midi library of Slate grooves for you and make a recommendation based off of your tracks. So it will still use the midi grooves that were played by real drummers. So at least in that way will be more human than some other AI applications.

Well yeah they never did but this will streamline the process and help you sort through thousands of grooves much quicker to get a good starting point.  The thing I like about Slate drums is that the grooves were played by real drummers in the pocket so if you zoom in they aren't locked to the grid.  Being that they are midi, you can quickly lock them to the grid if you want but I like the human element of those grooves being played by real drummers with real timing.  I've found it to be a very helpful songwriting tool over the years.  Of course I always have a real drummer come in and track later but sometimes the budget doesn't allow for it so it's very helpful for those times.
