This thing looks awesome on paper. Like an OM7 or SM7b with the frequency response of an EV. Anyone tried it?

I would love to try it. It looks great on paper as you say. I like the Audix OM7. I assume it has the name PDX because that is the name of the Portland, OR airport.

I think Audix might be too late to hit the pandemic-fueled every home podcaster is buying a SM7B. The market is now flooded with used SM7Bs... and podcast kits, and all that. At least I've seen a bunch of it. I guess it does have that 60's retro spaceship look, so Sylvia Massy probably will have one.... but who will actually buy it for $800?

People who want an RE20 with detail unlike the current make, an OM7 that doesn't drop your voice out when you turn your head and isn't scooped, and people who want an SM7b that's not a piece of shit. 800 bucks? People buy useless in the studio chinese capsule mics that cannot take any eq because when you eq away the distorted low mids, you exacerbate the awful top end micro resonances, that are so bad, Soothe was invented to fix them and dull everything else.
