A band i play in was invited to play the Kennedy Center this weekend. Had a great gig to a sold out crowd, and they did a really nice audio/visual live stream that you can check out on YouTube:
Super cool Harman a/v facility, super pro staff, all in all a great experience. 👍🏽

Props, that's like an ultimate gig ! really enjoyed the band too, how long you been together ? Thanks! the bands been at it like 15 years. I joined around 2018 after I produced a record for them. Their drummer quit shortly after the record, and I knew all the new material, so it was an easy fit. Ha. before I joined they had a really good run. Lots of national press (rolling stone, etc), great tours, Newport folk fest, all that. But members started having kids and the touring life got to be too much. The singer and keys player moved out of Boston and things basically ground to a hault. Then I joined! LOL their earlier momentum still occasionally lands us a big gig, and because everyone lives in different states, we never rehearse, which makes this basically my dream gig: a band with no regular schedule playing cool shows fronted by a really good songwriter. Hahaha |
