Stam said this on fb:
“ it’s a 33609 with the 2500 output stage“

He sent me a clip a while back. Seem to remember it just sounds a little more mid pushed than a 609

Wow these hybrids are so cool! My Stam 609 has earned a very worthy position on my drum buss.

We have about 8 options right now for the output so just deciding what sounds best
We want this to be more mid forward but also retain the low end of the 33609

Or make it modular and have 2-3 with different sonics?

Guys .... These days (bearing in mind I'm already 60 ) how long does it take - realistically - take to receive an order form STAM audio?

Why does it have to be a limited batch, Josh ? It looks so cool... I want to twist red knobs in 2025.

Move to Chile, “weathers good there in the fall”, and Josh can always use another builder !

One day to one year (or more) Depends on the unit. One day to one year (or more)Well that's succinct (though not exactly what I was hoping for) Thank you! I can tell you that in a lot of cases it becomes an availability for certain types of parts because they don't mass produce them on the same level as other parts. Mainly because only high end audio builders are the only demand for them and parts suppliers have a tendency to increase their price on them which causes the customer base to shrink if the designer has a strict build of materials budget.
Other times if the part is custom like a combo rotary switch with a poteniometer, like a Greyhill add-a-pot switch all of those are built in manufacturing lots and not sold individually at parts distributors. Other things like PC board blanks become an issue at times.

....and i got a box of parts that simply hadn't the exact (and promised) technical values...

Easy, just make it sound like the Focusrite Red 3 compressor output

Why does it have to be a limited batch, Josh ? It looks so cool... I want to twist red knobs in 2025. We are finding a solution to that shortly and it's US based. I hope we can have permanent stock this year on most things and just replace it as they sell I am working on a console as well, original mics, preamps, compressors, some cool clones and something very special which is almost done but I can't disclose for legal reasons but it's a game changer for sure.

Sorry to veer off topic for a bit, but would this refer to different takes or twists on classics, like your popular 87T? Or are we talking something that has no reference to existing microphones? Regardless, curious to see what's next in the pipeline.

It's very hard for something new to not be a twist of something previously made.
After all there are only 4-5 outstanding capsules to play with.
I will say the head grille is original and so is the combination of parts but it will be reminiscent of the old.. just better (to my ears!)

Wow!! This is fantastic news. Josh, I recall a post saying you were taking a step back from operations at Stam? Was that accurate? seems like quite the ambitious timeline for new products. So very excited to see what you/the team come up with next and hope you are around for years to come!

Well unfortunately there is very little money in original capsules these days. You can make a hell of a lot more as a small time builder of clones.
