These look very cool. I am the target market for this, no doubt. Any of you industry insiders have more info on these? www.gibson.com/en-US/amps

That's some interesting copy on the Falcon 20... Haha... hypnotic throb. Gotta love copywriters for gear marketing. Never fails.

Interesting. So this is Randall Smiths team doing this. I think the California Tweed and Filmore are two of Mesa's best amps. These Gibsons sound cool, but I heard a Benson being played by Molly Miller and it was a wonderful sound, more in that vintage camp to me. I have a Kivett Bednar (works for Benson) amp, one of his early conversions, and its just awesome. The Gibsons sound a bit modern to me, despite the copy. They have that "Mesa"-ish sound to them.

Man, I wanted a GA20 for forever. And they used to be around, cheap. But whenever I found one the speaker was always buggered up. Always. So I always passed. Regret it now. Starts can get close to my memory of what those sounded like. Swarts. Damn spell check.
Cheers, Geoff

I was actually kinda hoping this might scratch some of the Benson itch for half the price. Definitely gonna try one out as soon as I can.

As an owner of an original Falcon, I can’t figure out why the heck they called this new amp a Falcon.
Sounds cool - but couldn’t be further from its namesake

Ahh that make sense. I was wondering what was meant by marketing and legal in cahoots. Totally get it now.

I have two amps in these sizes that do this sound in a much more pleasing way to me. A Princeton reissue Ltd Edition (has a 12" speaker) and a Vibro Champ. Another really cool amp this size that I have is an original St. Louis Music Crate Vintage Club 20.

Cool sounding amps.... but more Magnate than Gibson. Completely different tube assignments also

I'd like it more if he utilised the neck pick up on those guitars. Cheers, Ross
