This actually looks really cool. And it's under $100...

Wow...it's actually kind of killer. It's basically Vocal Rider, compression and deessing. And it does a bang up job. I might be buying this. I pulled off the chain I had on a singer (kept the EQ) and basically was able to dial it in in about 30 seconds. Sounded just as good as the plugs I was using and I have more options with this. Even if it was just for the auto leveling, clean comp and deesser...

Oxford Dynamics has even more control than it too if you want. Voca is kind of a step back from it.
Oxford Dynamics is a Gate, Expander, Compressor, and Limiter with lookahead. It only picks one process at a time. So the Limiter is used not to control the overshoots from the compressor (1176 after a dbx 160 on a vocal) or prevent the peaks from misfiring the slower compressor (the 1176 before LA2A) but to affect the peaks above the limiter's threshold post "makeup" differently. You can mold the vocals how you want fairly easily especially if you read the manual to learn how to set the compressor and choose attack and release with your ears. There are some good Fab Dupont videos on it too but you can use it much more aggressively than he does.
Sonnox Voca is a serial processor auto-leveler (the auto input) -> de-esser -> fast limiter -> slow compressor. So each modulation stage further distorts it rather than trying to put the volume where you want it to be in one go. Worse philosophy. And the Ozone type GUI is imprecise versus the old school utilitarian Sony Oxford one.

Exactly but it's only tailored for lead vocals in modern pop or slick rock type vocal, not for controlling someone with a super wide dynamic range or a whisper to screamer like the Oxford Dynamics and MDWDRC2 can

Right, but you'd just use something else at that point...I've already got gates, expanders, comps, etc...this thing does it in 3 moves bascially.

This is on sale for 30 GBP or 40 USD if you want a leveler, serial compression, de-esser, and saturator in one plugin. It's very modern and Izotope like but done better. I prefer Oxford Dynamics to not overmodulate the signal and for more control but this is a really good plugin.
