I bought an Amek M2500 for next to nothing ($200) that was destined for the landfill.
I know how cool these things were, its a 32 channel that two channel strips are missing, no power supply, no automation computer. I see i have 14 stuffed with the mic pre board, the tt patch bays, and the meter bridge that I guess they were cutting down the frame as its has been cut from its steel supports, and the 8 Ft lower frame that all the backplane boards were removed and in a seperate box.
I think it would be too much work to make it a full mixer again, but what kind of 'hot rod gear' can I make out of all of it?

Maybe make it a 8-16 channel side car?

Maybe make it a 8-16 channel side car? That could be interesting, Maybe on something built like my Otari Mtr10II cart frame? But a little wider? Or same width?
I could imagine a power supply and a patchbay mounted under.....
