Anyone using this software PCM 42?
I am finding myself Jonesin for a hardware lexicon but could do without the headache of sourcing and maintaining it...
Any impressions of the plug?

Never liked the way it sounded. Echoboy is way better imo.

If you don't mind my asking, is it that you do not like the PCM 42 or the emulation of it? Or both, lol

I used to have the hardware PCM 41, and the 42. I would much prefer an emulation of the 224 over an emulation of a 42. I use the Relab 480 XL, which has some high res upgrades to the Lexicon algorithms that take it to 11.

The 42 is a delay though vs the 224/480...

Had a hardware 42 and never liked the sound of the PSP plug in. Didn't even sound close. Another vote for Echoboy if you want a great sounding, versatile delay plug.

The 42 is a delay though vs the 224/480… oops, sorry, I used to have the 41 and 42, and I got them reversed in my head. I used to put the 42 on 60% of my vocal tracks, but after using it from the first day it was available until I sold my home studio, I can't say the delay was so special that a plug delay is dissatisfying. Reverb is a different story though.

I'm hoping to avoid the ilok setup if possible but echoboy is tempting...
Fuggit I'm gonna go for a Fulltone tape delay.....and admit that that's the sound I'm chasing...
