So I went through Apple charts today, and there’s no surprises, except that maybe tons of 808 rap is still booming, some Xmas oldies, Taylor Swift and a couple pop artists, a few country hits doing ok, and then Red Clay Strays.
And I can’t figure out why they are there?
I don’t get it. it’s got a vintage style of production, the kind I’m normally trying to chase, the kind where the highs are rolled off and I know it will be completely ignored. Yet somehow this is on the top 100?
Anybody know the production?

They're new to me too. Having a truly great voice and looking like a cross between a young Matthew McConaughey and Elvis don't hurt none.

They're playing here in February, I might have to go.

As the song says "wondering why" (it should be a hit) ; it feels like a song I could've / should've written.
Wiz this could give you cause for optimism , it's very loosely in your ball park IMO.

wow, and it’s right in the video. Thank you! My ear definitely hears the tube chain. I was thinking audioscape, see what you guys have done? LOL.. looks like 50’s mono board with mods for direct out. The slap echo is very convincing, does RADAR do that? Any case, it’s a wonderful development to see a live band style production on the charts. I hope the lyrics are actually real and not AI, like some critic on a google search theorized. I do agree the lyrics are bit perfect, while amazing- sort of lack some character.. maybe my only complaint. The singer has some star power though, image and voice. The YouTube comments on their live vid, -assuming they are even real,- say people have been praying for something like this. So I guess the demand is out there |

Not super clear, but the blue console is an RCA SS (same amps as I have FS in the classifieds) and the custom black rack panel stuff looks like a passive mixer with more options than the RCA provides.
