He's got the set-up to do it, that's for sure. Pretty hardware intensive. Like to know more about the multi band compressor he's using. The listen feature is nice.
Sounds very forward to me (but I'm also in a phone...) Suits that music. Good mids suits most stuff, though.
That's two days running now I've encountered the Dangerous Liaison. Seems a nice utility piece.
Wonder if similar results can be had with software?

Wait...he's just using a filtered side chain to focus the detector on the mids. But those are just...compressors. So he is actually compressing the entire mix, or really in this case, the mid and side as he is running in M/S. He is not just compressing only the mids. The whole signal is compressed it's just triggered off only the mids.
So a bit miss leading. Those aren't multi band compressors.
