Drew posted this on FB today :
“Hi all, I have gotten our upgrade offers fast-tracked. Support has coupons available for these users that allow:
Creative to upgrade to Producer for $50. Mix to upgrade to Studio for $100. Diamond to upgrade to Signature for $150.
We had hoped to have these deals ready at launch but are running a little behind.
Please open a ticket to get your coupon now. We will be following up with these already planned offers via email, but I wanted to get these out now for all the users looking to upgrade NOW.“

No, it's just those three that are offered as of now. It's crazy how much thought you have to put into getting the best price for these products, and then next week it could feel like a sucker's move. But if you are getting in fresh these days, people can get a bunch of really good plugins for waaaay less money than I spent.

Yeah, I can't really complain - I'd never owned any UA plugins until like 6 weeks ago or something. I guess I ended up with the Essentials Bundle and I also got the 1176 Collection on the side. The most direct "upgrade" would be to the Signature Edition, it looks like, which I would definitely be interested in, but hey, if they don't have an upgrade there, it's not going to ruin my day. I'm also not going to rebuy half of the plugs I already own, however, so... It seems kind of like how Waves was back in the day with all these weird overlapping bundles, and you can easily end up with 2+ licenses of the same plugin.

And at the moment Essentials and Signature is the same price, and Signature has way more products in it overall. I know I've spent that much at Black Friday to get four plugins in the past, so the Signature would be a good deal if you don't own those now.

I see essential for $49 and Signature for over $200, where are you seeing the same price?

I see essential for $49 and Signature for over $200, where are you seeing the same price? From what I saw, there's a BF deal on Signature for $300. And the "normal" price for Essential is $300 -- though you can still get Essential for $50 as a "crossgrade" from their free LA-2A plugin.

Makes sense, I have the free la2a so could x grade, but, as usual with UA, the bundles force you to buy plugs you don't want, am interested in the 76, ($149), that’s about it.
Softube has a sale on its zener/bender for $89-99 more interested in that anyway.

Lots of new prices in the november sales...the 6 for $399 is great - I just don't have 6 that I want.

That becomes the ua dilemma , what do they have that you actually want ?

Kinda frustrated. I grabbed the essentials bundle for $50 because I wanted the galaxy echo, oxide tape, and pure plate. Then a week or so later saw a deal for $40ish/plug on a site and grabbed the Fairchild, lexicon, 175/176, and studer for another $150. All stuff in that $300 bundle. No dynamic upgrades so I’m just kinda stuck paying the additional $300 over my $200 for the same stuff. Meh. If it wasn’t 5 weeks ago, it wouldn’t sting as bad I guess.

By te way, you mentioned the galaxy echo. I have the UAD various echos. But I have to say that the Line 6 echo farm was better than any of the UAD echos.

I think I paid an average of about $275 for each plug...

I paid full price for a number of the bundles years ago and then just kinda put off more because I’d rather have native alternatives due to being on tour half the year anyway. Now it’s all going native and god damn it I can’t turn down a deal. Hence why I bought the previous deals. I messaged support. Maybe they’ll get back to me. Maybe not. Eh. Even at $500 all in, it’s still like $21/plug so I should probably just be happy with the deal, but I’ll wait a week or so and see if they can take care of me.

Historically, $21/plug is very good.

Does anyone know if there's a standard Legacy to new version upgrade path?

Normally now not. They used to used to offer the updated plug for 50% off, plus you got a new legacy license.
But, they kept driving down price and sort of stopped that, but if you can buy something for 50% off, like 1176 collection now, in effect, you are getting the discounted price. The current doubled custom bundles are the way to go: deep discount plus you get to pick twice as many plugs or Ultimate 12, if you have inclination: lowest plug price but do you really need all those plugs ?

Yeah, I got the 1176 collection and the API Vision Strip when they were on sale.

I pulled the trigger on a Vintage King listing for a Crossgrade to Signature Bundle for $150.
It worked! Although I don't own any of those previously sold bundles they've marketed as of late, I do own most of what is in this bundle already. Crazy how all of this is being promoted and handled. I've heard so many stories, good and bad. So I'm surprised it worked. And grateful that I've got about 10-12 new products at a great price.
Looking forward to trying out the new Sound City Studios. It's really like a full suite of studio effects. 1176 Compression. Neve EQ. Room and Chamber Reverb. Mic emulation.
I've already got some nice instruments, but I'll now have to check out all of theirs.

I think I paid an average of about $275 for each plug... Yep me too! I made a spread sheet of every single studio and music related purchase I've ever made since 1999 both hardware and software. Since 1999 (24 years ago) I've spent $20,000 on software alone (I'm including DAW's, plugins, Sample Libraries and VI's) Of that I calculate I'm using about 25% of those purchases as the other 75% is now outdated, outmoded, discontinued and/or unsupported by my current computer OS. (Add to this $20,000 another huge sum for the computers that have run it, DSP cards from Powercore and UAD and many interfaces too - all written off as useless) Of the hardware I've bought since 1999 I'm still using 95% of it! The hardware is, in many cases worth more than I paid for it and the computers and software are essentially worthless. So I conclude as great as software is .... it is absolutely terrible value for money long term.

X 10,000!!
$40 g’s would buy you a hell of a good analog system!
