Looks great. What do the 6db and bump buttons do?

Here's a real measurement of the BF-500 high-pass filter around 100 Hz:
The default slope is 12dB/oct. The "6dB" switch changes the slope to 6 dB/oct. The "Bump" switch creates a 3 dB resonance around the cutoff frequency (works only with the default 12dB/oct. slope)

The bump is useful, but my fear is guys with 3in KRKs loving it because it gives the illusion of LF. Now a cool probably never thought of use, got sealed sub that doesn’t have EQ? This thing dialed in will flatten out your LF.

What happens when you change the hpf to a lower frequency?

What happens when you change the hpf to a lower frequency? The bump should have the same relationship to the -3 dB point, think of it as a third type of filter.

All the LouderThanLiftoff filters do this trick. Seemingly "bigger / larger than life" while still cleaning out crap you don't need on the extreme bottom. Have fun with em!!

Someone ed-ju-ma-cate me, here. I've got plugin filters that do all kinds of tricks and can't imagine leaving the box to HPF/LPF with outboard.
How are you all using these? Specifically, during tracking, inline, after the preamp and before a compressor?

Specifically, during tracking, inline, after the preamp and before a compressor? OK here is why you want an analog filter, to maximize your useable gain. If you have let’s say a major HVAC noise problem around 30HZ, if you go through the AD before filtering the level of that HVAC noise is going to determine your gain structure and headroom and resolution. You will never get it back, you can get rid of the noise but you can’t get that headroom back. Now at the very least let’s say you are in the same situation with analog filters. Let’s say that HVAC is roughly 100 dB of your single if I set a 12dB per octave filter with the -3 dB freq at 60HZ I’m going to knock it down 9 dB, set it at 120, 18 dB below the corner 240 - 30 below the corner. 18 dB per octave the 30HZ noise is going to be -15 below a 60HZ corner, 33, below a 120 HZ corner and 41 below a 240 HZ corner. A 24 dB per octave filter ( Linkwitz Riley ) is going to put that HVAC -21, dB below the corner, filter at 45 dB below the corner at 120hz, and 69 dB below the corner. In a typical home environment you will notice the increased head room. On drums the kick is no longer eating up the headroom of every other open mics track.
