There's a new Omnipressor recreation coming out. This is certainly more interesting than another 1176, LA, or SSL clone. I love the plug. It can do killer things to drums, guitars, and vocals. "Introducing the Omnipressor® 2830Au 50th Anniversary Reissue A faithful recreation of the legendary dynamics effects processor In 1973, Eventide Clockworks introduced the Omnipressor, the first studio product to encourage the use of dynamics for special effects. It joined the Instant Phaser in studios worldwide, with the Instant Flanger following shortly after. All were used on countless recordings and are now considered truly classic products. The Omnipressor, with its still unique dynamic reversal, infinite compression, variable gating, and separate “sidechain,” was discontinued a few years later. It had become difficult to obtain some exclusive parts and even more difficult to explain it to an industry that was much less sophisticated than it is today. Today at AES, Eventide announced the golden-anniversary Omnipressor Model 2830Au. The original hand-drawn schematics were in the Eventide archives, and the new model is a faithful replica designed with the same circuitry and the same sound as the original 2830. With supply chain issues resolved after 50 years, you can now find the 2830Au for sale and priced about the same as the original. The new 2830Au model features the ability to link multiple units and is fitted with input and output audio transformers, which were a costly option on the original. Other improvements include a universal power supply and a back-lit meter. More convenient TRS/XLR connectors replace the original terminal strip."

Nice. Definitely a fan of this comp and was pleasantly surprised with the plug version. Use it fairly often.
I honestly don't totally understand the thing but it makes for a fun one to get creative with.

This is interesting, they did a reissue about 20 years ago, I think more people know it from the plugin.

Wooooow...didn't expect to see this and love that they stuck with the stripped down look and original typeface. I've had fun with the plugin, but usually use a Valley People 610 or mpressor500 for some (but not all) of the Omnipressor tricks. Looking forward to hearing this new one in use.
