For those of you using UAD plugins, this is a pretty nice sale. Get it at Sweetwater. See the link below for details. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/UAPlugBunU11Up--universal-audio-uad-ultimate-11-plug-in-bundle-upgradeOh, and if you buy this U11 bundle now, it'll get you a free upgrade to U12 when U12 comes out next month. U12 will add four more plugins to the bundle list, one of which is an as of yet unreleased plugin. The other three plugins getting added to U12 are the Electra 88, Waterfall Rotary, and Capitol Compressor.

Not just using, its an upgrade so you have to have owned a previous Ultimate bundle.

Not just using, its an upgrade so you have to have owned a previous Ultimate bundle. That's incorrect. Actually, you DON'T have to have owned a previous Ultimate bundle. You only need to own a Heritage Edition Apollo to get this $249 deal. And from what I'm hearing, people are maybe even getting this $249 deal even without owning a HE Apollo. I just purchased U11 for $249, and I've never owned any of the previous UXX bundles, U10 or otherwise. Plugins are already in my UA account.

Interesting, hopefully UA doesn’t renege on that!

Interesting, hopefully UA doesn’t renege on that! UA has already come out and said the deal stands. They're not going to yank your new plugins, in other words. I kind of don't think this deal will be around super long though.

Lucky you, I don’t own any ua hardware now, which I think prevents you from buying plugs?

Lucky you, I don’t own any ua hardware now, which I think prevents you from buying plugs? Correct. No hardware, no UAD-2 DSP plugins. The native UADx plugin are a different story, but the Ultimate bundles are basically a UAD-2 only product. Though it looks like the native UADx plugins are going to start being incorporated into the Ultimate bundles, starting next month with U12. That said, for those plugins in native, you of course get the DSP version too. FYI, I've seen multiple people indicate that they have also gotten this deal.

I am happy for you and them. I never agreed with UA giving 3 month subcribers the lowest price ever on ultimate, so if long term ua clients can grab a deal now, I’d say its long overdue: enjoy your new plugs !

Doesn’t seem to be working now Yeah, it seems the link isn't working anymore. Not sure what is going on with it now. Drew at UA is claiming that it was a mistake. Maybe it was. It always seemed like a smoking deal that wouldn't be around too long. We might already be at the end of it.

Just talked to Sweetwater and he’s saying the 249 is only for previous ultimate bundles. The 5 or more promo is like 999

Just talked to Sweetwater and he’s saying the 249 is only for previous ultimate bundles. The 5 or more promo is like 999 Yeah, there's some confusion going on with this. Originally, I think it explicitly didn't say anything about needing to be a previous owner of an Ultimate bundle. But then I was hearing that people were still managing to pay the $249 and get U11, even without owing a previous Ultimate bundle. So who knows... They did seem to change it to explicitly say that you have to be a previous bundle owner, but like I said, people have supposedly had success regardless. Things seem to have been changing throughout the day.

There are tons of reports of people just picking that option without owning U10 and getting U11 for $249. Worst case they refund you, even though it says no refunds on software. Since you can’t redeem the code you never got the software

Sounds like the Izotope accidental cheap upgrade last month that also disappeared after an hour or 2. Is this the new marketing tactic to get us excited and hungry for something we didn't know we wanted/needed?

I did. Plugins are already in my account. Jelly I already owned 103 UAD-2 plugins, plus the 20 or so native UADx plugins that I own, so this U11 purchase only netted me an additional 17 (I'm now at 120 UAD-2 plugins) UAD-2 plugins and one additional UADx plugin, so it wasn't as a good of a deal as some people who probably had half that many plugins and got U11. I think it worked out to about $15 per plugin for me, which is still very cheap. Some of these people were probably getting this stuff for like $8 a plugin or something. Most of those 17 plugins weren't actually something that interested me all that much, but maybe I'll find some surprises in there. Even if I only use five of those plugins and consider the rest a loss, that's still only $50 a piece for those five plugins. Anyway, the real reason I did it is because there is a new plugin coming next month that this purchase includes, and this will also put me on a path to potentially upgrade to future versions of the Ultimate bundle for not a whole lot of money, which has some value in that all on it's own. But I never would have paid the $999 UA was asking before, so they wouldn't have seen a nickel out of me anyway. At least they got some money out of this, where they otherwise wouldn't have.

Any guesses on the new plug? I don't really know. Drew has really talked it up as being something people will really want. But, ya know, I try to take the "trust, but verify" approach with UA these days, so I'm not sure what to think. All things considered, I think it still will be something I'll probably want. A few educated guesses might be a new tape machine, or some Neve stuff, or maybe a new reverb chamber/room thing like Ocean Way or Capitol Chambers. A new console or tape extension is LONG overdue so I'm guessing something to do with that world. Plugins for non Luna people, but those plugins also have Extension counterparts for those that do use Luna. I kind of thought they might release a Neve Console Extension that gives you the ability to switch back and forth between different EQ models like the 1084, 1073, 1081, etc, similar to how you can switch back and forth between the 550 and 560 in the API Vision Console Extension.
