Price gouging--a real reach as to it's usefulness. Could build your own transformer box instead. But my signature isn’t nearly as pretty😁 |

I'm not ashamed to say I was crazy enough to spend $4k on this piece, and it has been worth it. The MBT is really incredible for my use case. Easily punches up any multitracks, stems, and full mixes. Takes dull sounds and makes them pop with ease, adding just the right amount of harmonic distortion. The most precise harmonic distortion/color box I've ever used, for sure.
May not be worth it for some people, but I got mine about 2 weeks ago, and it has been really helping me achieve that sound that I've been missing in my mixes. Sure there are maybe ways to get this type of saturation with transformer boxes combined with some other units, but I wasn't able to convince myself to go that route. Very happy with this MBT!

trying to decide between a shelford channel or an MBT.
I have some good mic pre's. and an MBP. any thoughts what would be good
to invest in? I dont have a channel strip.

With so many great and cheap options out there now from the likes of Audioscape, Locomotive, Stam etc…I feel like the Shelford is insanely over priced. Could get a sweet stereo comp AND eq for much less. Just an example from Audioscape, the D-Comp (very versatile) and two EQP-A’s. What are you missing from the MBP that you want out of the MBT? |

Mbt I understand is more of a sweetener. Heard it at namm and it sounded incredible. A night and day difference on the audio.
