Of all the things I've sold over the years, selling these was the biggest mistake. I hope the price isn't too different.
They have a different signature than the Twin Flicks, not sure what it is. But more in line with what you hear from records made on Flickingers at Key Club Recording (obviously - Skibbe's studio) and Black Box in France.

Any experience with the A58A Equalizer they have listed on their site? (I'm not sure if it's a past or future product). I do love quite a few of those Key Club records: Bobby Conn's King for a Day, Chicago Underground's Slon, those Nomo records and a bunch of others. Any recommendations from Black Box to listen to?

I bought 4 and 2 Twin Flicks. Apparently Hunter’s have original transformers but the new ones have Mesavonic and they are fast and spiky. Twin Flicks with all those transformers and Germanium op amps are equally impressive in a different way. The Olympic 65’s were the best retro sounding when they were available but I think Jim wants to make an expensive 10 channel sidecar so he’s saving parts. All in all it makes a great change from 1073’s.

No, I always wanted to try it but I don't think they ever got to production. I remember Bill was accepting orders on the 226-9 Limiter but the A58A never seemed to get to production. It's been almost 10 years on the website in some form or another.
Black Box...The first record that comes to mind and the first one I ever heard from there was a math-rock band called Cheval de Frise. A good showcase for the punch and speed of the console.
The other record that really stood out to me from Key Club was the Tristeza record Bill and Jessica did. Something ethereal about that one.

I'm a big fan of Tim Pierce and I've heard him talking about tracking his guitars with Flickinger pre's.

Thanks for the info / recommendations. Kind of shocked I've never heard this Cheval de Frise, definitely would have been straight up my alley when it came out. Also: good reminder to pull out the Tristeza records.

Hopefully I'm still on the list for next year for the pre's.

I’ve been on his “Master class” online course for two years now, my dream and goal is to be a 1% as talented as Tim Actually, I’ve made great progress, significant improvements tracking guitars and learning how to layer parts. …. and play less notes! And the notes I do play make a bigger impact. Guitar is my third instrument but Tim has helped me raise my skill level to the point I sound half decent.
