I got an inquiry about a VO session with a remote producer who would need to hear what's happening and be able to communicate with the talent and me. What are people using to accomplish this. I remember there was some mix bus plugin deal people were talking about during lockdown, but I can't remember the name. I figure I might need a mic on a channel for myself instead of just using the talkback mic on the console, and that's fine, though if there were an option to keep my normal workflow going that would be better.
What are you all doing in these situations?
THANKS

If you're using ProTools and have an active subscription, I saw that you get a free subscription to the Audiomovers plugin that does this. I have not tried to do remote sessions before, but that might be worth chasing as a quick/free bandaid for this.

Get the producer on your cell. Put it on speaker phone. Mic the phone and send it to the VO talent.

By far the best option for this is Sessionwire.
It's like Audiomovers and Zoom had a baby. Works amazingly well. I've used it a lot for remote editing sessions, review sessions, and more.
It has a talkback channel and an high quality stereo send as well. So you can use your computers mic or setup something for TB. Setup a regualr mic in your session and send that as TB. Plus the whole mix or a separate mix bus to the producer in 24b48k.

You can just send them a link and they can join the session. No login required. Does make it easier if you're doing work together on a regular basis though.
