Ever since UA bought Bock out, I don’t want to deal with UA. I have a Bock 151 that needs some service, how do I get in touch with David Bock? I’ve been searching to try and get in touch with him, any help would be appreciated. Thank guys

Now is not the time to bother David about things like repairs. He has recently gone through so much personal trauma that something like this is far from his thoughts.
Any good mic tech can easily repair your mic. David makes well built, easy to service equipment.
I am sure David will make it publically known when he is taking repair work.

I guess I didn’t know the whole story behind everything that transpired between UA and David. It’s more than a repair, it’s a modification, but yeah, you’re right Tim. I’ll hold out until we hear from him publicly. I am really bummed for him. I have several of his mics and I feel UA will not give the same quality as David. I’m not a big fan of UA, never was. I’m a huge fan of David though and I wish him well. |

I'm so glad I bought David's "Bock 47" four or five years ago. I had a Grosser Voxorama, a Neumann U47, and a Telefunken reissue and I don't remember knowing what the impetus was but I bought his 47 and I love it to this day. He was super gracious too when I asked him about about putting a Neumann capsule in it. He said the mic doesn't need anything, it's designed to be the sum of its parts. And he was right. Super underrated 47.

I would also recommend David. He is top notch. I will wait for David because after all it is his mic. I’ve had an issue with this mic for sone time now. Could you please give me a heads up when David is ready to start repairing his mics? Thanks Tim |

I would not be surprised if his departure from UA involves some sort of Non- disclosure/ non- compete agreement, it does it would be best for Dave and us in the long term not to screw it up or entangle Dave in any legal disputes. It may not be the case, but the way UA has acted as in the past as a corporate entity it would not surprise me. In fact knowing that Tim and Dave talk beyond their common professions is why I asked Tim to simply send our best regards, I don’t want our good will to screw up his long term finances. |
