Hi guys. Here is a link that I got this morning from a very dear customer of ours. These were the actual mics used for the session though I am sure they didn’t move around as much!!! Lol.
There aren’t many BC12 clips around but this one is a great display of how it looks and sounds.
Take a listen and let me know your thoughts!
Cheers.
Ben

Hi Ben! Sounds great. I was surprised at how rolled off the HF was on the BC12. Does that ring true to you?

Hi Ben! Sounds great. I was surprised at how rolled off the HF was on the BC12. Does that ring true to you? Hi Bill. It will have been shelved to sound like Olivia. The bc12 is really airy but still very full and it loves eq like no other mic! Even the bu47 has had a low shelf from what I can hear but the clip does give a good idea as to the capabilities of both mics. Cheers.

Also, in relation to the C12a that you make, is the BC12 airier but still full on the bottom, or similar to the C12a that you just came out with. Thx.

Sounds great. That BC12 all though it sounds like there is a Low pass shelf on it sounds nice and creamy. Makes me want to hear more of this BU47.

So, a high shelf on the bc12 to make the voice sound darker like Olivia/the original soundtrack, and a low shelf on the bu47, to roll off some low end?

I guess you can call it a low pass for the bc12 and a high pass for the BU47 though technically high and low pass filters have a set frequency at which they are set and as I am not aware of what that frequency is, I chose to call it a shelf which can also be subtractive. A low and high pass also have a fixed roll off per octave whereas a shelf is boosted or subracted and maintains all frequencies just at at lower or higher level without continually rolling off which is what I hear in both of these mics.

Sorry but am I wrong in assuming that the male singer used the C12, and the lady used the U47 ? It sounds like this, to me. Contrary of what is staged in the video clip.
