I recently purchased an FX888D soldering station and have had a strange issue. I'm getting shocked while using it. It happens when I'm holding the iron in one hand, and solder in the other, while my feet (no shoes) are touching the concrete floor. I also get shocked through the top of the plastic case on the control unit when my feet are touching the concrete floor. It's not a huge biting shock, but tingly enough to be uncomfortable. Is there a grounding issue with my Hakko?

Is there a grounding issue with my Hakko? Wow. Never heard of such a thing, but yes that's some kind of grounding issue. YOU are becoming a ground for something. Now, we don't know if it's the Haako or if it's your outlet/feed though.

I'm well past the Microcenter return window. I emailed Hakko, and they pretty much said it was something on my end. But, they would take a look at it if I mailed it in. I suppose I'm going to have to pay for shipping both ways, and most likely a bench or repair fee (if needed), so wouldn't I fair just as well buying a new one? Sucks that's the reality. Disposable product culture.

Disposable product culture. Check their online warranty and see what the bench fee is, yeah your probably screwed but you never know!
