I tested every compressor in my arsenal and forgot all about the AudioScape VComp. At 1st I said dang the 2A get the vibe but it’s a little too light brown. Then I looked down and saw the VComp and said hmmmm. Plugged in and went EUREKA! It does that invisible pretty damn good.

The Buzz Soc 20 M did it for me. I love the RS 124 and the 2A & 3A too.

I have others that are great too, but for myself when I come to track my own vocals paired with a 47 > Coil CA-7O nothing comes close.

I never really liked the LA2A for vocals although lots of people do. I LOVE the 1176 rev A on vocals. I can't imagine using anything else these days.

The A/s or more correctly, AB revisions/clones are indeed bright and brightest in 12:1 ratio. If I were tracking you, I would use a Rev D on your voice after an optical or Mu (V-comp or retro). But only for peaks. Your talking voice (alone) is a beautiful natural bright voice anyhow. Honestly, I don't think I would use a V-Comp on you. And that's a first. Especially after that Stam C800G

An alternative to the Retro STA Level that's very nice and forgiving at the tracking stage is the Buzz Essence.

Yep, remove a person's fillings at 20ft. It was a sound. Let's at least say that. Talking of the 80's ericn have you seen the new Spitfire Audio Jupiterwww.spitfireaudio.com/jupiter-by-trevor-hornTrevor Horn's "sample set" so to speak. It will keep you company if you're "the owner of a lonely heart" Oh no .... I'm starting to sound like Chris!
