I don't believe him, so that ruins it for me, actually I flipped off the screen almost simutaniously as some subliminal frame in the vid flipped me off lol, I swear I saw that?

Album sold 530 copies in first week in UK. So, the moral of the story is: It's better to beat your loved one and have no remorse (Chris Brown) than to cheat on her and be sorry about it. (Robin Thicke) www.nme.com/news/robin-thicke/78427

Interesting video. Excepting the subliminal stuff. From the onscreen texts, odds aren't good about getting her back. Song is weak tea, as far as soul searching and a path to redemption. What's he saying, other than what he needs for himself?

Better vocal production for him than normal. He's getting a much raspier and colorful midrange than his previous album. I read somewhere he used a 1073 and Telefunken 251. Love how the mic is accentuating that rasp. I'm not a big fan but this vocal itself sounds really good. Also nice to not hear his annoying head voice for once. "Robin Thicke‘s temporary home studio; SoHo Last fall Robin’s manager called me saying Robin was going to be in New York for a few weeks and wanted me to track instruments and vocals at a loft apartment he was renting at the time. Between Robin, his producer ProJay and myself, we put together a list of stuff we needed and gave it to Jim Flynn (they also were wise enough to throw in some forgotten necessities). Robin Thicke preferred to sleep/record/repeat at his temporary SoHo studio. Robin wanted to write and get ideas, but of course a bunch of what we’d record would end up being final, and Robin likes to do things right (as long as it’s quick). He understands the importance of good gear, so we rented four 1073′s, a CL 1B, an ELAM, an HD-3 rig, a Big Knob, another headphone amp, a few pairs of 7506′s, a Motif xs8, some DI’s, and me and ProJay brought in some of our own mics and other gear. The apartment was one of those huge SoHo lofts with high ceilings, so it was quite ambient, which Robin was cool with and wanted all over the recording. This idea of putting a temporary but pro studio together worked out well, saved money in comparison to booking an equivalent studio, and it allowed the artist to literally roll out of bed, tell me to hit record, and kick me out 16 hours later when he was ready to go to sleep. The vibe of the sessions was good too; we recorded all types of songs, all types of instruments, and never touched AutoTune. It was a great idea looking back on it, and I figured I should bring it up for this article as it’s just another example of being a traveling freelance engineer. - See more at: www.sonicscoop.com/tag/robin-thicke/#sthash.Ci9oaL0C.dpuf

Really liked that...didn't know he could play like that. This reminds me of Stevie Wonder/Michael McDonald...killer.

The problem with Robin is that he's not authentic. It has always seemed like he was singing someone else's style like Maxwell etc. One of those guys who just wanted to be famous and sang whatever he thought would make him look cool. There is a raw, flawed, and authentic personality to most great singer songwriters that people subconsciously pick up on. He doesn't have this connection. It's hard to hear "anything" through his practiced and predictable vocal runs. Not being a hater just saying he is a guy with a good voice who misses connecting as a singer songwriter because there isn't something there that resonates as human and authentic.
And he's not recording songs with great melodies and composition. He needs a better producer or some writers to co-write with etc.

It seemed he may be heavily influenced by MM. I saw it coming through.
