One of the greatest singers of all time. My Mom saw his first professional appearance.
He was very nervous about how he did. Of course my Mom said he sounded wonderful the moment he sang. Chris

A wonderful life, a resounding legacy, and despite being diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2016 he still managed to perform multiple times with Lady Gaga, no doubt bringing his talents to a fresh audience. RIP Tony. Sad to say though, that I spotted a post on Facebook yesterday asking who he was

I never met him, but my wife did. She worked in radio in the 80's/90's and he came by the station. She said he was courteous and friendly to everyone he met there. No big-timing. I'm glad Gaga brought him and all that great music to yet another generation. Even though he was no longer out in public, apparently he was singing right up until the end.

I've listened to his later "comeback" recordings with a gaggle of famous contemporary singers, and I found them this side of embarrassing. A few of them had their moments here and there, but by and large he put every one of them to shame. NOBODY phrases like Tony Bennett. You can see (in the videos) and hear them working like dogs to get good genre-appropriate phrasing, but you can tell that Tony was doing it with ZERO effort. It was simply magical. Oh, and did I mention he had a pretty good voice?

I've primarily listened to Tony "solo". It'll be interesting to listen to more of those... Chris

Chris The Gaga stuff is special, even if you’re not a Gaga fan the special relationship and her protectiveness of a very fragile Tony shines through. There is magic in those tracks, a very special magic that anyone who has had someone they love deal with cognitive issues will see. Watch the videos Tony is very fragile, till the music kicks in suddenly he is the Tony we all grew up with, the music was his silver bullet, unfortunately at some point the band needs a brake.
