Not sure the subject line explains the question. It's actually pretty simple though.
When doing OTB summing, is there any technical difference between summing ITB through a bus vs just sending each channel to the same output? I've been mixing through bussed stems (Orbit -> SB -> Creme) but it occurred to me that I could simplify my template by skipping the busses (unless I have a specific bus requirement) and just sending the signals straight to the Orbit through the same output if needed.
Example:
I have a "MISC" bus for everything that is just kind of leftover. So maybe there would be a tambourine, a clap track, and an accordion on there. I don't know, the point is not stuff that needs to be bussed for creative reasons. Those channels get sent to the MISC bus ITB which then goes out to the Orbit through outputs 15/16 which is wired into inputs 15/16 in the Orbit.
Is there any reason not to just send (in this made up case) tambourine, claps, and accordion all straight into outputs 15/16? Will the DAW sum it the exact same way as if it was bussed?

If you are not processing that bus then there’s no difference. And processing would include level and panning in this case.

I guess I'd need to send stereo outs to make sure panning stayed consistent.
