I can't believe I'm going to say the following sentence, I'm looking at Shadow Hills as a cheaper alternative to the Shelford Channels when my finances are finally sorted. Originally my Shelfords cost a whopping $1K less than what they're going for today, however I wouldn't mind a couple of channel strips that might do as well or better. Never used Silk or the compressor on the Shelford so there's some wins to be had here.
I was thinking about building another 500 series rack with the following, 2X SH Mono Gamma > RND 551 inductor EQ > either Chandler Opto, Acme Opticom or Buzz Essence. What do you think?
