Hey Guys, Tony asked me to demo my c12 with campbell cap as I have modded it to run the non standard mullard tube ( its a few resisters no biggee and referenced in the build thread). straight into apollo pre; little guitar and vox ( my guitar has a 2 week old set of the newtone strings I was talking about on the other thread here) Attachment Deleted is there some way to get around the attachment size ? I can't even load teh clip compressed or mp3. it will be at soundcloud kcatthedog. (when I say i am 10 inches off the mike it was actually about 2 inches) https%3A//soundcloud.com/kcatthedog/diy-c12-demo

Sweet, the esses are natural, not exaggerated. Nice and warm too.

Cool Kat! was this in cardoid? it definitely has the extended top end like my rig. I love the mic on instruments, especially on acoustic g, its a little too sharp for vox so far for me, but i think this is normal fare for the C12. Tim emailed me last night, my pair of C12's for my elam's are ready..whoo hoo!
As far as getting files loaded, AFAIK soundcloud is the easiest, i just googled "soundcloud file format", they say they post whatever you upload? I hope this is true, and since we're getting to this point, i hope to see mp3's fall off the face of the earth, and i say good riddance...

I think Soundcloud works really well. Just post the Soundcloud link, highlight it and then press the "soundcloud" icon in the menu.

yes sound cloud works and yes cardiod, the mullard is warmer and richer than the original 6702 I had but cat5 got me a 1954 5 star ge 6702 so I want to mod the mike back and try it with the 6702
I have 1 of the 1954 ge 6702's in my rode classic mkii and it really sounds great, but just ordered one of max's u47 builds, so I probably won't keep the rode but it certainly sounds great with the older 6702 or with a mullard ; it was thin on my voice with its original 70's ge 6702.
interestingly the 6702 is what my chameleon labs 7802 takes as well so I experiment swapping out tubes in it too with my custom cineMage transformers its is quite smooth.

Thx yes it would be now considered the premium with a cambell cap and tube upgrade other than that its the kit you buy from studio 939 matador/chunger
Won'r be selling rode till i hear the 47: i like the rode got it from the original owner !
