The REDD Microphone is a single unit, existing as such, it is. Not trying to be the antagonist here but not true. It has a definite microphone circuit and a definite preamplifier circuit. Putting both in the same tube doesn’t make them omnipotent. Ie: a block of chocolate and some candy in the same bag; they don’t magically become Cadbury marvellous creations, they are still separate chocolate and separate candy, they just share a common housing. Both are candy, candy together they are, existing for the world to enjoy, as a candy.

Now you’re explaining it for us kids! Seriously though quite often in Europe the body of a condenser is referred to as the preamplifier and the capsules separately. I just think of it as a microphone with different pattern possibilities etc. I also see the REDD and TG similarly. Microphones with possibilities. Obviously I’d love to see and hear your creation to understand your intentions. Especially after getting more and more into your sound and quality Mate.
