I've always had kind of an emotional sweet spot for the iMac line. Kind of impractical and a bit frivolous, but just undeniably cool. The "lamp" iMac was the first computer that made me think Apple was cool. I was like 19 or so when came out and had previously associated Apple with crappy Apple II's in middle school typing class.
I'm sure this one will cost a pretty penny based on how much Apple charges for a comparable display.

I’m more of a Mini, Studio or Pro guy, I like to keep the cabling on the desk to a minimum. Have lots of clients who are going to love this though.

There is no way that 30" screen will be only 5k, as the article claims. That would make the resolution below 200 PPI, which is not Retina. I'm pretty sure that it will be at least a 6k screen.
