Hi all. I had a few minutes this afternoon and I thought it might be a good time to post some audio samples of the different modes in the B67/269. Sad to say, the vocalist is me but the end result is the same. Same mic, Same pre, no EQ. The pre is from an SSL big 6 and the mic was being held by me rather than in a suspension mount but I have steady hands so there isn't too much handling noise.. so here is the Drive link, I'd love to hear your thoughts! I hope the link works for you all. Cheers. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1M_pKKzDmRhZqJ4xUcDHiM631__GOlIXQ?usp=share_linkWhich Mode is your favourite?

Sounds good. I guess the files that says new is the version 2 mic. The old is the original BU67. From one version to the next there isn't that much of a difference. I do hear a slight difference in the high end. V2 has a little my crispiness on the top. Maybe a little clearer in the low mids. I am listening on headphones. It seems to me the big difference between both versions 67 to 269 comparison. The 269 file seems to be very similar with the highs rolled off a bit. I prefer the 67 mode on both new and old. I own the original BU67 and when I tweak the mode switches inside I get a good bit of change in the sound of the microphone. Especial between broadcast and non broadcast.
I would love to hear the same sort of test with your BU47 and BU49 classic series.
Thanks for posting the examples.

I do have a question. Was the broadcast filter engaged or disengaged during these examples?

I might do the same small clip using some other mics in our aresenal. I’ll give everyone a week to choose their favourite and also their opinion of which mic is which. Once the week is done, I’ll choose the first person based on their selection of which mic is which (whoever guesses the most mics correctly) and give them an Oliver fet mic free! Do you think the forum mods would be ok with that? To me it sounds like a bit of fun.

Hi Ben. I'll try to figure out the "aif" file thing. (I'm used to WAV/MP3 files) Hopefully I won't get too much FLAC over this! Thanks for doing these! Chris
