What are you guys using? I've successfully been using backblaze for the last several years, but it's all of a sudden stopped working. Not sure if it was the move to Ventura or what - but their tech support - while prompt - hasn't been able to fix the issue and we keep going around in circles.

I still use Chronosync. Have a work drive and a backup drive. Backup goes into the fireproof safe every night. Never had a problem. My internet is horrible where I am and I’m not into leaving my system on all night to upload files.

I use Time Machine for the operating system…and for projects… I use iCloud. So I have a copy of the project on my external audio disk that I work on…at the end of the session I copy that to tthe cloud. I have projects archived in the cloud and physically in the house…my studio is in a seperate building

Was Backblaze unable to help as they're just not compatible with Ventura? I'm still on Monterey and it's working but always nice to know if it's going to crap out when I eventually upgrade.

Goodsync to extra drive and the cloud (Dropbox). Easy.

I’m using iDrive as well. Been on it for a year. Uploads are painfully slow, but I have no other benchmark, so maybe that’s normal? I have run into an issue where I uploaded then later downloaded the same files, and it came back smaller. Still investigating, but otherwise happy with it.

I've been using iDrive for the past few years. Works great. Uploads are slow, but I just leave the computer running at night, and have the backup scheduled for 1 in the morning.

It just stopped working. All of a sudden I got something like a week ago saying my computer hadn’t backed up since 5/25. Somewhere around there I think I upgraded to Ventura. So I’m assuming that was the ultimate issue. Basically, for 5 days, the help desk - even the supposed senior tech - have just had me twiddle here and there and reinstall. Annoying.

Dropbox and external hard drives. I keep meaning to write a batch file to do all session backups to each of the three HDs and Dropbox with a single click, but have yet to carve out the time to do that.

I go to my data drive and CTRL+A and then CTRL+C go to my backup drive and CTRL+V. No internet/subscription needed.

Hard drives. Render/freeze/bounce everything and then back it up. I’ve had sessions with only the rendered tracks and freezes living for whatever reason. This made going back to the beginning except for totally raw tracks impossible (sometimes the raw tracks won’t even pull in the same session years later) but I’ve been able to print alternate mixes.

Ooph, that sucks but also thanks for the heads up.

Went back to TimeMachine and Crucial X6 drives. Works great, super fast. Also do a redundant to a Synology raid setup but the Crucial's are plenty good.

It’s still the same old fashion physical backup and idrive.
