For talkback? Any recommendations? Maybe something Omni?
We are rocking a 58 and you have to pull it in too close. API Legacy, if it matters.
Need to find out if it has phantom, now that I think about it.

Does the desk have an XLR connection for the TB Mic?

Does the desk have an XLR connection for the TB Mic? It does, right at the center section of the console.

All my Harrison consoles have a built in omni talk back mics activated by a console button or foot switch. If the API has such accommodations I'd suggest an Omni mic.

Yes, there’s a talkback button and a well placed xlr. No built in mic. It’s a new install and no one here is sure if there’s phantom. Other than that it’s as you would expect.

I bought a used gooseneck off ebay. Not even sure what the brand was. Might be AT or Astatic. I got one that mounted through the desk rather than sitting on top of it. Works fine because it's so small, I can have it close to my mouth most of the time without it being in the way.

Always found goosenecks got in the way so I always preferred the other standby the little AKG D58e.

I think mine is a CAD that I got when I got my console. I'll look later and see if I can find a model. I like the design because it is flexible for an inch or so near the XLR then 8 or so inches that is ridgid, and then another flexible section. It never droops.

Yeah droop is a real problem because almost none of the talkback mic inputs have phantom so it’s always a heaven dynamic element on the end of that gooseneck.
