My sisters acoustic version for her new record she had produced by Charlie Peacock. You can hear the album version in the end of the song. She's sent me the board mixes and I have to say this, if this record will pick up any steam, it could be a positive for the Country music Genre.
The mixes are Waaarrrmmmm and beautiful, not in this video, whoever tracked that for her in Dallas didn't understand the principle of making space in a mix, but it was probably a friend of hers or something. But, the record, the songs are about life, they make sense, they deal with heartache and happiness, and as this songs describes in not so many words "F%*( off dude".) My sister is a fabulous singer and songwriter, and that's the part that I love about this, she wrote these songs, and in interviews after she won the Texaco Showdown she made it known that her roots were Merle Haggard, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, etc. and her record was going to reflect meaning and purpose, and she didn't give a damn how many records it sold. From what I'm gathering from some of my buddies is that my sister has the respect of the industry, and the industry is going to do for her what it can.
When her record comes out I will post about it, and guys, support her in anyway that you can because she's doing all she can to bring back our beloved stories, purpose, and meaningful genre. She has some heavy hitters repping her, I've seen the emails and everything really looks positive in regards to acceptance by those that will place it for national play, but she will still need the support from within, so, tell your buddies, support Crystal Yates, and let's try to bring back songs that make sense, by people that are talented.

Jerome told me about his sister and I thought, "yeah, yeah...sure...your sister sings...I'm sure she's great (cynical eyeroll)"...But damn...she's pretty freaking fantastic. Really great singer - and GOD we need some. Here's hoping for great success (and a co-write with her brother's bestie in Nashville )

Thanks John!
She's in San Antonio right now doing private house concerts for some mega rich people, apparently these are really really lucrative. She's really great, even though I'm bias, but I'm just so damn proud of her, she's had a hard life and for me to see her dreams coming true, well, if anyone deserves it, she does.

Shes great !
What I don't get though is the stupid music industry and the general public .
If your sister was in the place of Taylor Swift I could respect and understand why all the girls and people like her ,listening to her in this video , "yeah , I get it".....she can sing , its believe able and she can write her own songs . She is the REAL DEAL ....an artist . Someone like that deserves recognition .
And then you have the so called super stars of today , which I don't get , I don't believe them and I don't think they have talent , yet they are idolized and treated as great artists .......and people like your sister and other talented artists get shoved aside for the Lady Gagas.....which to me should be laughed off the stage .....
Strange backwards world we live in today .

Congrats on Crystal winning that contest! That's quite an achievement and quite a prize. Bravo. Thanks! She was incredibly honored when I told her your kind words, and it was definitely an achievement. When acts like Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley, Tim Mcgraw, Carrie Underwood etc. have either won or just been in the contest, it really is a shot in the arm and basically puts it all in her hands, which she is being about as proactive as she can. Fame isn't really what I wish for her (though it'd be cool!) I just want her to live her dream and be happy doing it. So far so good. Thanks again!
