Great deal! Anyone try these on vocals? Here is a quick test I did with the oc818 which is the multi pattern version. Vocals were done on the oc818. It's been a while but I do believe there is only compression and maybe a high pass on the vocals other than a bit of verb. I've been trying to find the session but it was a quick test. OC818 test |

This is a tasty deal, although I have the oc818 already. My understanding is a regular oc18 is a match with 818 and can be used as a match pair in cardio only. I think the 818 is a great mic. This deal only includes the mic clips. No shock mounts. The shock mounts are $120 each. Still just 1 of these mics with the shock mount, clip and I think case is $849.

That's a real tempting sale. Do I need them? of course not... but.... Yeah right!!! I feel you. I am thinking exactly the same. I have the oc818. I would love to have just 1 of the oc18. Just to have a matched pair. At this point it cost almost the same to get 1. Granted if you buy 1 it has the shock mount and case which I rarely use for my 818. I find the way they have the capsule mounted does pretty good. |

For workhorse mics, I already have a couple AT4050 and a couple MK319. Trying to think if these offer something different. There are so many ways to spend money... Someone needs to do a very comprehensive shootout of the Lewitt modern 414 AA, AKG’s latest, A nice Brass Capsule via rage 414 and Beesneez take on it. Icing on the cake would be if Tim Campbell were to loan his favorite FET with his capsule. The modern war of 414! |

Maybe somewhere on his channel it can be found. linkYeah I have seen a couple of AA vs Lewitt and AKG’s latest, but they always seam to be a single source, the thing about the 414 in the real world is it’s a “ do everything mic” I want a to see a demo where they do it all from accordion to a zipper in Foley use because that’s how 414’s get used. |
