Just loaded the new Pro Tools release and updated the firmware on Carbon so it now has 7.1.2 monitor control from the front panel encoder. Kind of limited if you want to move to .4 or .6 as it can only route to the 10 built-in analog outs, no Pre or ADAT expansion, but nice to not need an external controller if 7.1.2 will cover you. I got the Dolby Production Suite earlier this year, which is required to set it up for the 7.1.2 format.
Just added enough additional boxes to my theater inventory to demo this, now looking into monitor options to set-up a dedicated suite in the house for wood shopping without disturbing the current working studio lay out.
