I'm wanting to revisit what I use to control LF bass.
I have had decent success with DMG Limitless, Multiplicity & TDR Nova.
What are you all doing to grab hold of the low end and control it with ease - either on subgrouped tracks or on a stereo mix. Are there any great sounding transparent compressors (plug ins) that excel in LF compression these days ?

I'm often using DMG tools for that. Essence, despite being positioned as a de-esser actually is great for bass control. Faster/easier to setup than Multiplicity for me.
Tone Projects Basslane Pro is an essential tool for me now too. It's a super deep plugin, capable of useful stereo field shaping and harmonic goodness beyond effective dynamic shaping.
TBProAudio DSEQ can work well at evening out low end if you're trying to reduce resonances or mud.

Thanks for the reminder on Essence, which has a great rep in the mastering community for LF compression. I can get a discount on it too as I have a few DMG plugs.

His TrackComp is also outstanding. If you have a need for familiar HW comps like G bus, 2500, 1176, LA-2a, 160, etc it's worth adding for deeper discount.
Apparently he's been working on a TrackWarmer for ages now too.
Back on topic, if you need the explicit control offered by dynamic EQ, the Kirchhoff is great. Sonnox Dynamic EQ is simple and always worked better for me than Nova. Wholegrain DynPEQ is another option if you're on OSX.

+1 on the Sonnox Dynamic EQ. I also use the Weiss EQ1.

Soothe 2 can work well for grabbing LF resonances. Works better than DSEQ for that purpose IME.
Oxford SuprEsser (high res) is a good LF compressor. The Auto Level Track function can be handy in some situations and few other plugins have that capability.

I find standard EQ and compression (on each bassy track and the subgroups they're routed to) can get me most of the way there, most of the time. I don't use HPF'd sidechains in compressors a ton and find that helps keep the low end in check - find settings that work well for the whole spectrum and things tend to fall into place and move nicely with the rhythm. Typically EQ before compression in these cases.
When I need more specific control I find TDR Nova usually does the trick for either a pesky resonance or overall low end "compression" (even though it's not a compressor...).

TDR Nova GE
Sonnox Oxford Dynamic EQ has the useful peak/onset button but that bad knockoff Fabfilter gui instead of an old great Sony Oxford style one while being more expensive and less flexible than Nova.

A cool name for a dark ambient EP if I'm being honest.

Just had a REALLY good spot of luck using Ozone's Low End Focus module for this task. Really tightened things up nicely.

ProMB, old C4 and C6, Soothe if its more of a resonance type of thing. For sub groups and stereo mix, I find automation solves alot of issues!
