Very excited to announce that we launched our website recently. We carry bulk Mogami, Neutrik, heat shrink numbers, custom shrink as well as all the pre-built stuff we do. Anything you guys want to see on the site? www.traceaudio.com

One thing that I highly-doubt is out there, probably because it’s not possible, is numbered heat shrink big enough to go over XLRs and shrink enough to around the cable. Alternatively, maybe there’s numbered heat shrink that’ll shrink to an XLR without getting in the way and stay in place?

That is a great idea that we’ve explored. Biggest issue is cost. 4:1 1” shrink is the only thing that kinda works. It’s very pricy. The best solution we’ve found that is cost effective is a 1/2” label from a label maker and then use some of our ultra clear shrink on the actual connector. Can sell it Pre-cut to make life super easy.

OK some other ideas since not everyone has Electronics Supply down the street, plus the cheap Radio Shak iron in my go bag died and My Hakko 888 is dying; soldering tools and supplies, I can’t remember where you are located but just think what a pain the ass it is to simply grab some de-solder wick, I mean the Hakko de-solder gun doesn’t fit everywhere 😁 Also the basic hand tools again not everyone has Harry J Epstein down the street ( consider this it’s the one place my wife won’t let me go with a credit card) www.harryepstein.com/Also, I see you are out of stock on a bunch of Neutrik, welcome to the world of connectors. Neutrik was one of the hardest vendors for us to figure out production schedules and demand. If you’re going to go in this direction understand you are going to need to have alternatives if you want to keep clients. Unfortunately with Switchcraft moving towards only dealing with master distributors the buy in is messy. The other thing with connectors is your customers are going to want a single source, this means stocking things like D-subs, 3.5mm, binding posts, forks, spades, Speakons etc. It might be worth it to talk to any of the gear builders you deal with about bull buying from you to get Master Distributor status, or even local SR, pro and home theater installers. Even medical, when the Kid was in the ER his call button was the old Switchcraft and the largest supplier of those fun on demand pain pumps uses switch cables made of Canare L4-E6s and Canare TRS plugs ( yeah I’m a geek).
