Hey gang,
I got the BAX and put it into my Aphex 4B-1 and I'm getting a major signal loss. I'm wondering if this thing is unbalanced, even though it has TRS and TT. I see a diagram on the back for jumper that says Hi and Low, so I'm going to open it up. Does anyone know these? I love that it has TT and the only other one like that is the old API 4 channel.
Thanks!!

Some of those Aphex are a pita because some were not really 500 chassis, but wired for Aphex. Many were shipped for 500 but a bunch were converted in the field.

Yeah, I'm not even sure the PSU is actually stock, because I cannot for the life of me find the jumpers... There is an API on ebone that I might try to get.

Today it was determined that my Aphex box is a Frankenstein of sorts. The PSU is not the stock Aphex as there are no jumpers for Hi and Lo output as indicated on the back. Looks like a purchase of a new chassis is in order.

Do you have a link? Thanks

Up until say the early 2000’s there were so many competing formats that looked the same but were just different enough that it was total confusion. It always amazes me that in this industry we can’t just get a bunch of manufacturers to sit down and right a standard. When we do things tend to work.

The Aphex has an internal supply, so I don't think that's an option, but thank you. I'm considering an RND or possibly BAE or API replacement.

Pull the supply, wire a Jack I know a couple of guys who did it with API six space, not because the CAPI was better but because on the road having a slot next to the PSU can be a noise issue!

It is a cheaper alternative.
